SELECT
The following selects all rows and columns from the Customers table.
SELECT * FROM Customers;
The following selects all rows, but only the first_name and last_name columns from the Customers table.
SELECT first_name, last_name FROM Customers;
WHERE
The following selects all rows and columns from the Customers table where the country is USA OR Canada.
SELECT * FROM Customers
WHERE country = 'USA' OR country = 'Canada';
ORDER BY
The following selects all rows, but only the first_name and last_name columns from the Customers table where the country is USA or Canada, and sorts them alphabetically from A to Z.
DESC would sort them from Z to A.
SELECT first_name, last_name FROM Customers
WHERE country = 'USA' OR country = 'Canada'
ORDER BY last_name ASC;
LIMIT
The following selects all rows, but only the first_name and last_name columns from the Customers table where the country is USA or Canada, and sorts them alphabetically from A to Z.
And it limits the number of rows it will retrieve to 10.
SELECT first_name, last_name FROM Customers
WHERE country = 'USA' OR country = 'Canada'
ORDER BY last_name ASC
LIMIT 10;
