Quick Reference
The COLUMN keyword is used to change the data type of a column or delete a column in a table.
ALTER COLUMN
The following changes the data type of the column named start_date in the Customers table to type year.
ALTER TABLE Customers
ALTER COLUMN start_date year;
DROP COLUMN
The following deletes the secondary_email column from the Customers table.
ALTER TABLE Customers
DROP COLUMN secondary_email;
