Overview

The hr tag creates a horizontal line that spans the width of the element it sits within to visually separate sections of a document.

If you want the horizontal rule to only be part way across the page, and perhaps sitting in the center of the element it sits within, you can can the style attribute, or better yet, make a rule using a CSS style sheet.
