Overview
The flex-basis property specifies the initial length of a flex item.
Specify the Initial Length of Items
In the following, the three boxes have no specific width defined and are the width of their content (the text within each box).
Box 1
Box 2
Box 3
.flex_container {
display: flex;
background-color: #ffbd02;
}
.flex_container > div {
background-color: #eaeaea;
margin: 10px;
padding: 20px;
font-size: 22px;
}
However, if we add lines 11 through 19, we can define a width for that particular flex item.
.flex_container {
display: flex;
background-color: #ffbd02;
}
.flex_container > div {
background-color: #eaeaea;
margin: 10px;
padding: 20px;
font-size: 22px;
}
.div_3 {
flex-basis: 300px;
}
