Quick Reference

An RGBA color value is specified with the rgba() function, which has the following syntax: rgba(red, green, blue, alpha).

Each parameter (red, green, and blue) defines the intensity of the color and can be an integer between 0 and 255, or a percentage value (from 0% to 100%). The alpha parameter is a number between 0.0 (fully transparent) and 1.0 (fully opaque).

div {
    color: rgb(255, 0, 0, 0.5); /* red with 0.5 opacity */
}

div {
    color: rgb(100%, 0%, 0%, 0.5); /* red with 0.5 opacity */
}

Syntax

rgb(red, green, blue, alpha)

Values

Value	Description
red	Defines the intensity of red as an integer between 0 and 255, or as a percentage value between 0% and 100%
green	Defines the intensity of blue as an integer between 0 and 255, or as a percentage value between 0% and 100%
blue	Defines the intensity of green as an integer between 0 and 255, or as a percentage value between 0% and 100%
alpha	Defines the opacity as a number between 0.0 (fully transparent) and 1.0 (fully opaque)
