Quick Reference
The PHP filter_input_array() function gets external variables (e.g. from form input) and optionally filters them.

Syntax
filter_input_array(type, definition, add_empty)
Parameters
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
type | The input type to check for (required):
|
definition | Specifies an array of filter arguments; a valid array key is a variable name, and a valid value is a filter name or ID, or an array specifying the filter, flags and options; this parameter can also be a single filter name/ID; then all values in the input array are filtered by the specified filter |
add_empty | A Boolean value; TRUE adds missing keys as NULL to the return value (default value is TRUE) |

PHP NOTES:
- When using PHP, single or double quotation marks are acceptable and work identically to one another; choose whichever you prefer, and stay consistent
- Arrays count starting from zero NOT one; so item 1 is position [0], item 2 is position [1], and item 3 is position [2] … and so on
