Quick Reference
The text() method sets the text content of the selected elements, overwriting the content of ALL matched elements.
This only replaces the text inside the element and does NOT remove the elements tags or attributes.
$('p').text()
// replace the text within all paragraph elements
$('p').text('Hello world');
Syntax
Set the Content
$(selector).text(content)
Set the Content Using a Function
$(selector).text(function(index,currentcontent))
Parameters

| content | Specifies the new text content for the selected elements (required) |
| function(index,currentcontent) | Specifies a function that returns the new text content for the selected elements
