Quick Reference
The show() method shows the selected hidden element. The shown item will now take up space on the page, affecting the layout. It works on elements hidden with jQuery methods and those with display: none in CSS.
$('div').show();
Syntax
$(selector).show(speed,easing,callback)
$('button').click(function() {
$('div').show(2000, 'swing');
});
Parameters
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
speed | Specifies the speed of the effect; possible values (default value is 400 milliseconds):
|
easing | Specifies the speed of the element in different points of the effect; possible values (default value is “swing”):
|
callback | A function to be executed after the method is completed |
