Quick Reference

The dequeue() method removes the next function from the queue and executes the function, allowing the remaining items in the queue() to continue. They would otherwise stop after the function.

					$('div').dequeue();

Syntax

					$(selector).dequeue(queueName)

					$('div').dequeue('my_animations');

					$('button').click(function() {
    $('div').animate({height: 400}, 'slow');
    div.queue(function() {
      div.css('background-color', 'green');
      div.dequeue(); // without this, the last animate() would not run
    });
    $('div').animate({width: 400}, 'slow');
});

Parameter

ParameterDescription
queueNameSpecifies the name of the queue; (default is “fx”, the standard effects queue)

We’d like to acknowledge that we learned a great deal of our coding from W3Schools and TutorialsPoint, borrowing heavily from their teaching process and excellent code examples. We highly recommend both sites to deepen your experience, and further your coding journey. We’re just hitting the basics here at 1SMARTchicken.
