Quick Reference

The load() method loads data from a server and puts the returned data into the selected element.

Syntax

				
					$(selector).load(url,data,function(response,status,xhr))
				
			

Parameters

ParameterDescription
URLSpecifies the URL to load (required)
dataSpecifies data to send to the server
function(response,status,xhr)Specifies a function to run when completed

Additional parameters:
  • response - contains the result data from the request
  • status - contains a string containing request status ("success", "notmodified", "error", "timeout", or "parsererror")
  • xhr - contains the XMLHttpRequest object
