Quick Reference

The ajaxSend() method specifies a function to run when an AJAX requests is about to be sent., and should only be attached to the document.

				
					// on an AJAX send a message is written to the page
$(document).ajaxSend(function(e, xhr, opt) {
    $('div').append('<p>Requesting ' + opt.url + '</p>');
});

Syntax

				
					$(document).ajaxSend(function(event,xhr,options))

Parameter

ParameterDescription
function(event,xhr,options)Specifies a function to run if the request succeeds (required)

Additional parameters:
  • event - contains the event object
  • xhr - contains the XMLHttpRequest object
  • options - contains the options used in the AJAX request
