Quick Reference

The ajaxError() method specifies a function to be run when an AJAX request fails, and should only be attached to the document.

				
					// on an AJAX error an alert will be displayed
$(document).ajaxError(function() {
    alert('An error occured!');
});
				
			

Syntax

				
					$(document).ajaxError(function(event,xhr,options,exc))
				
			

Parameter

ParameterDescription
function(event,xhr,options,exc)Specifies the function to run if the request fails (required)

Additional parameters:
  • event - contains the event object
  • xhr - contains the XMLHttpRequest object
  • options - contains the options used in the AJAX request
  • exc - contains the JavaScript exception, if one occurred
