Quick Reference

The colgroup tag specifies a group of one or more columns in a table for formatting using the col tag and applying formatting to entire columns. In the following, we have three columns defined with styles applied inline, and then the row follows with the three columns of data.

					<table>
    <colgroup span = "3">
        <col style="background-color: red;" />
        <col style="background-color: green;" />
        <col style="background-color: blue;" />
    </colgroup>

    <tr>
        <td>col 1</td>
        <td>col 2</td>
        <td>col 3</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
        <td>col 1</td>
        <td>col 2</td>
        <td>col 3</td>
    </tr>
</table>
