Quick Reference

The ::after pseudo-element inserts something after the content of a selected element.

					ul li::after {
    content: " - added info after";
}

In the following, all that is required is the content property, which we have set to a FontAwesome icon. The other properties are simply for positioning and to declare the font family.

					ul li::after {
    content: "\f1c1"; /* pdf icon */
    font-family: "FontAwesome";
    display: inline-block;
    padding-right: 8px;
}

Increasing Specificity

We’d like to acknowledge that we learned a great deal of our coding from W3Schools and TutorialsPoint, borrowing heavily from their teaching process and excellent code examples. We highly recommend both sites to deepen your experience, and further your coding journey. We’re just hitting the basics here at 1SMARTchicken.
